Benefits of Exercise

Did you know that exercise can actually heal your body? So it is not surprising that exercise is good for your health. Our mission is in the midst of a "inactivity epidemic". So understanding the value of exercise is more important than ever. It is estimated that inactivity is the fourth leading cause of death nationwide. The medical repercussions of inactivity is estimated at $102 billion of US health care expenditures.

If you are one of the 56% of adults who do not meet the recommended physical activity levels you are putting yourself at increased risk for health issues, such as obesity, cancer, and diabetes. It has been found that 1/3 of all cancers may be fat related and therefore preventable if all of us would make an effort to increase our daily/weekly physical activity.

Physical activity can provide a wealth of health benefits when combined with healthy eating no matter a person's age. Exercise is an essential tool that contributes to the management of weight, building lean muscle mass, reducing fat, and strengthening joints/bones and by doing these things you are lowering the risk of obesity. It is recommended that 30 minutes of moderate intensity exercise, three days a week will make a positive impact on both your emotional and physical health.
